City crews from the Public Works department work to fix a 12-inch water line break on Howard Road near Fairview Avenue on June 29, 2010. Traffic was diverted for several hours while crews dove under water to put a band clamp on the pipe. There was partial flooding along Howard Road and side streets.

Hundreds of families watch as $500 worth of donated Phantom Fireworks burn up, one by one, at a display and carnival on July 2, 2010, hosted by Madera South Marching Band and Colorguard Boosters in the parking lot of Rancho San Miguel supermarket. The boosters club sold fireworks and food at the fund-raiser as well as offering free face painting and bounce houses.
