Maderans got a look at plans for the county's new courthouse Wednesday evening at a meeting in the Madera County Public Library.
Officials from the state Administrative Office of the Courts, which administers the entire court system in California, were there to speak. Architects were there to show drawings and answer questions.
The courthouse will be built on 6th Street, between G and H streets, on property once occupied by the VFW Hall, a Spanish-style building which housed county offices, the county garage and some residences.
The new courthouse will face northeast, and will be across 6th Street from the 100-plus-year-old courthouse that now serves as the county historical museum.
