Local vintner to release new wines

By For The Madera Tribune

The San Joaquin Wine Company will release its two newest wines, Katelyn Rose and Dolce Dolly, on Feb. 13 and 14 during the Madera Wine Trail's Wine & Chocolate Weekend.

Katelyn Rose is named for owners Steve and Cindy Schafer's daughter, Dolce Dolly for Cindy's mother.

"It just made sense to name our first dessert wine after Dolly," Steve Schafer said. "This winery is all about our families, and Cindy's mother was as sweet as they come." The late harvest of Sauvignon Blanc will be poured along with Katelyn Rose, a slightly sweet Rose the Schafers' named for their daughter Katie.

In addition to the newly released wines, San Joaquin Wine will make its first Wine Club offering this month. Members will receive four bottles three times per year for just $49 per shipment.
