And So It Is: The gentle giants of Sunday afternoon

Friday, February 05, 2010

By Rev. Jim Fox

"Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another."
-- Romans 12:10

This weekend is one of the greatest for those of us who enjoy a good football game.

The different contact sports are not enjoyed by all people because of the brutal exchanges of hits to one another and the roughness these competitors put their bodies through. I know that during the regular season the games can get to such a level that one wonders how the body can withstand that kind of punishment.

These people who compete go through some very rigid conditioning in order to take those hard hits and get up, go to the huddle and be ready for the next play.
